ICS Conference Tuesday 6 March 2012

Venue: London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square

ECEW 2012 - "Delivering on your promise"

On May 22-23rd, European Customer Experience World returns for its fourth year, taking place at the new Hilton Hotel, Terminal 5, Heathrow, London.

Featuring a roster of speakers from global brands such as Virgin Atlantic, Ford, Sky, Vodafone, TomTom and Aviva, this year’s event builds on the success of what is recognised as the leading Customer Experience (CE) event currently run in Europe.

“We see this year’s theme of ‘delivering on your promise’ as something that applies as much to us as event organisers as to the event itself” says Maggie Wheeler, director of the Focus Group and coordinator of the conference. “We’ve taken the feedback from ECEW 2011 and used it to introduce some key changes to the event”.

One of these is the introduction for the first time of a Chair for the event who is not part of the CE industry, but instead a skilled interviewer who can lead the Q & A sessions that are a key part of the format.

”We’ve been fortunate in getting Gillian Joseph from Sky, one of the leading TV interviewers in the UK, to chair ECEW 2012. Getting a professional to summarise the discussions and interview the speakers will address one of the issues that has been mentioned to us in the past – that there is so much content on offer at the event that it needs breaking down during each day so that it can all be taken in.”

Gillian will have her work cut out as she talks to experts from companies such as Lloyds, Orange, innocent, npower, Royal Mail and LV – and individuals such as Dave Carroll, the “broken guitar” musician who used Social Media to tell of his Customer Experience woes, and Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones aka The Black Farmer.

“ECEW is a hectic two days, but we know how much the presentations, discussions and workshops deliver to our delegates,” says Maggie “as they keep coming back year-on-year hungry for more. We know that times are hard at the moment, but we firmly believe that CE is the answer to how to keep businesses profitable at a time of squeezed budgets and resources. Delegates can choose from 3 streamed sessions each afternoon to focus on topics directly relevant to them – Social Media, Financial Benefits of CE and Employee Engagement – so they can target the areas of CE of the most interest to them, and take part in case studies and get feedback from some of the leading practitioners of CE in the world.”

”The value of the messages and strategies delivered by our incredible line-up of presenters reaps rewards for the attendees and their organisations, so we expect another sell-out event.”

Tickets can be booked via the event website: www.ecew.co.uk – and group booking discounts are available, as is a 10% discount off the ticket price of £895 for delegates who book before the end of March.

'Round the Handbags’® by Lynne Copp

'Dancing ’Round the Handbags®', is now published - at last! It has taken a lot longer than I expected, but I am very excited. It also won the prestigious Brit Writers' Award for Non-Fiction... very proud! I do hope that you will want to buy it, and also wondered if you might send the link to all of the women in your network/contacts? I have included the Amazon .com as well as the .co.uk link, depending on where your contacts are based.

Details of the book:
Dancing ’Round the Handbags’® (Ecademy Press) is a more than a self-development book for hard-working women, it is a catalyst for changing and balancing the way we work and live. Using the metaphor of the ‘handbag’ and the ‘dance’, coach and Brit Writers’ Award winning author Lynne Copp helps you to dance your best life. The Dance is a metaphor for what you do each day; dance to the tunes of others. The multiple roles of mother, wife, boss, friend, daughter, colleague etc. means that you are so busy dancing to the tunes of others that you have little time to dance to your own dreams, aspirations and potential; your own music.
The Handbag in this book is a metaphor for you. For example, The Mirror chapter explores your image; how you see yourself, The Lipstick chapter explores how you mask stress (‘put on a brave face’).
By reviewing your dances and de-cluttering the handbag, you will return to the dance floor of life, to dance to the tunes that you want to dance to.

Dancing ’Round the Handbags’® is available from Amazon and from the Author's website:
